Development and Fundraising Operations Support (Contract)

Organizational Overview: Dale House Project is a faith-based nonprofit serving young people (ages approximately 16–21) who are navigating homelessness, justice involvement, and family disruption. Through housing, employment support, and holistic life skills development, we walk alongside youth as they move toward independent adulthood.

As demand for our services continues to grow, we are strengthening our fundraising systems and donor engagement practices to support long-term sustainability.

Purpose of This RFP: Dale House Project is seeking a contract-based Development and Fundraising Operations Support professional to strengthen the systems, consistency, and execution of our fundraising efforts.

This role focuses on the operational and relational backbone of fundraising. It ensures that donors are acknowledged well, campaigns are executed smoothly, and internal processes support a growing base of supporters.

Scope of Work: The selected contractor will support core fundraising operations and donor engagement activities.

This includes managing the timely and accurate acknowledgment of gifts through written thank-you letters and email communications. The contractor will help maintain a consistent cadence of donor touchpoints, ensuring that gratitude is expressed clearly and promptly.

The contractor will assist in preparing and executing fundraising campaigns, including direct mail and email efforts. This includes list preparation, segmentation support, coordination of mailings, and tracking of campaign elements in collaboration with staff.

The role will also support donor data management and organization. This includes maintaining clean and up-to-date records in Dale House’s Little Green Light donor database and Donorbox online donor portal, assisting with imports and updates, and helping track donor engagement activity.  The contractor may also assist with basic reporting, helping staff understand trends in giving, campaign performance, and donor activity.

In addition, the contractor will help support the implementation of a monthly donor strategy. This may include tracking new recurring donors, supporting onboarding touchpoints, and helping maintain visibility into donor retention and engagement.

This role is not responsible for major gift solicitation but plays a critical role in supporting the infrastructure that makes fundraising effective and sustainable.

Deliverables

  • Consistent and timely donor thank-you communications

  • Completed and coordinated mailings aligned with campaign timelines

  • Maintained and updated donor records in the CRM

  • Support for campaign execution including list preparation and tracking

  • Regular updates or reports on donor activity and engagement as needed

  • Support for monthly donor onboarding and tracking processes


Desired Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Clear and warm written communication skills

  • Ability to manage recurring processes reliably and independently

  • Comfort working with donor data and basic reporting

  • Familiarity with donor databases or CRMs such as Little Green Light preferred

  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising or administrative support preferred

  • Alignment with the mission and values of Dale House Project

Preferred qualifications include experience in journalism, storytelling, nonprofit communications, or documentary-style content creation.

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role

  • Estimated hours: 10-20 hours per week

  • Duration: 6 months, with potential extension possible afterward.  Contract will be evaluated 4 weeks into the duration regarding 

  • Compensation: $40 per hour

  • Location: Hybrid, with some in-person coordination in Colorado Springs as needed
