Storytelling and Content Creator (Contract)
Organizational Overview
Dale House Project is a faith-based nonprofit serving young people (ages approximately 16–21) who are navigating homelessness, justice involvement, and family disruption. Through housing, employment support, and holistic life skills development, we walk alongside youth as they move toward independent adulthood.
As our reach has grown, so has the depth of the stories within our community. We are seeking a contractor who can faithfully and skillfully capture those stories and share them in ways that are compelling, respectful, and deeply human.
Purpose of This RFPDale House Project is seeking a contract-based Storytelling and Content Creator to lead the creation of written, photo, and video content for use across email marketing, newsletters, and social media platforms.
This role is centered on capturing the lived experiences of the young people we serve. The tone and style should reflect a “Humans of New York” approach—story-driven, personal, and grounded in real voices. The focus is not on issues in the abstract, but on people. Real people, with dignity, complexity, and growth.
Scope of WorkThe selected contractor will be responsible for generating consistent, high-quality content that reflects the voice and mission of Dale House Project.
This includes sitting with youth and staff to listen, observe, and capture stories in a way that is relational, respectful, and unhurried. From these interactions, the contractor will develop written narratives, photo content, and short-form video pieces that communicate transformation, resilience, and connection.
Written content will include short-form stories, profiles, captions, and longer narrative pieces suitable for newsletters and donor communications. Visual content will include candid, high-quality photographs and simple, authentic video clips that highlight people and moments rather than production value.
The contractor will be expected to shape content for multiple channels, adapting tone and format appropriately for email, print, and social media. They will collaborate with staff to ensure alignment with messaging priorities while maintaining a consistent narrative voice.
This role also includes basic editing and preparation of content for publication, as well as organizing and maintaining a library of usable stories, images, and video assets.
