The Dale House Project seeks to hire a Transition Specialist Level II to support our ministry among youth and young adults who are learning independent living skills. This position will spend 25-35% of their time in a secured facility offering Life Skill curriculum to groups and 1-on-1 transition services to assist clients entering back into the community. The Dale House is a Christ-centered community of and for broken people doing life together. This position works closely in relational ministry with clients as they take steps towards living independently.
Clients get involved at the Dale House to learn how to live on their own independently. Our population is represented by youth and young adults coming from homelessness, alternative schools, aging out of foster care, and some finishing a commitment to the State after having criminal charges. As is often the case with adolescents, many clients may be able to name worthwhile goals but they need help turning those desires into productive habits, routines, and practices. That’s where our community comes in. Through relationships—and a great deal of support, guidance, and accountability—clients turn these plans into daily decisions to go to work, attend school, make appointments, and continue making progress towards their commitments.
Requirements
You’d report to our Transition Coordinator, Michaela Wederquist. Michaela is currently working towards her Masters in Counseling and has oversight in maintaining caseloads for each team member. You will also work with the Clinical and Program Directors to ensure the Dale House Project’s Vision and Mission are carried out into the community, specifically through the implementation of programming in Spring Creek Youth Service Center.
You will collaborate with a team of people who are in an intentional community of caring, mutual support, and Christian ministry. This role also includes mandatory trainings, staff meetings, on call/support and curriculum development.
Most of your time will be spent meeting either one-on-one or in group settings with clients and working on their treatment plans, creating realistic goals, and evaluating progress. You’ll be diligent in connecting with clients—sending reminders and making up missed appointments. You’ll talk about the life changes and challenges that impact their daily decisions and provide connections, resources and support. You’ll share tools, and strategies to incorporate their goals into a step by step process that assists them toward successful independent living.
You’ll become the expert for each of the clients you serve and share the key lessons and approaches for our staff as a whole to work with this client. Your job is fully dependent on quality treatment driven documentation for each client that substantiates client’s progress or need for continued intervention.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position. Salary Range: $42,000 to $46,000, with a full benefit package. Dale House covers the cost for health coverage (monthly premiums) at no expense to you.
